Christopher Braccia is a National Security & Cybersecurity Fellow, cyber threat intelligence researcher, and international speaker whose work examines nation-state operations, critical infrastructure security, strategic competition, cyber policy, emerging technology, and the evolving intersection of cybersecurity and national security.
He is the creator and maintainer of The Observatory, an independent cross-sector cyber threat intelligence platform tracking thousands of cyber incidents and grey-zone events across all 16 U.S. critical infrastructure sectors, Space Systems, and hundreds of global subsea cable systems.
Braccia’s research spans state-sponsored cyber operations, critical infrastructure and telecommunications security, subsea cables, supply chain security, cyber-enabled coercion, attribution, resilience, emerging technology, and Indo-Pacific security, including extensive analysis of campaigns such as Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon.
His independent research has received international recognition and has been cited, published, or highlighted by the UK National Cyber Security Centre’s Office of the CTO, The Diplomat, RealClearDefense, the ISEAS–Yusof Ishak Institute, the Australian Centre for International Studies, Indian Strategic Studies, and the U.S. Naval Cryptologic Veterans Association.
Braccia has presented his research in the United States, Asia, and Europe, bringing cross-sector cyber threat intelligence and national security analysis to international audiences.

He built and maintains The Observatory, a free, open record of 4,324 verified critical-infrastructure cyber incidents and 312 grey-zone events, mapped across all 16 CISA sectors plus Space Systems and 697 subsea cable systems, and connected by actor, sector, and geography through an interactive Threat Atlas. It is free for defenders, with licensed enrichment for institutions.
